The territory of Turkmenistan is one of the early centers of the emergence of the art of singing and music. The Turkmens played a significant role in enriching world culture and disseminating its achievements, made a significant contribution to the formation and improvement of handicrafts, pottery and jewelry, carpet weaving, architecture, seisovaniye and especially song and music art. Famous performers and singers, who masterfully played the dutar, gidzhak, gargy-tuyduk and gopuz, created various techniques and schools of this art, the President noted.
Outstanding representatives of Turkmen musical art - Garadiali goklen, Kel bakhshi, Shukur bakhshi, Veyran bakhshi, Amangeldi Gonubek, Nobat bakhshi, Sahy bakhshi, Palvan bakhshi, Makhtumkuli Garlyev, Gurt Yakubov, Juma Vellekov and others through enchanting songs and melodies called for a peaceful life in friendship and unity. Thus, they educated descendants in the spirit of patriotism and humanism. The inclusion of the epic art of "Gorogly", the art of singing and dancing "kushtdepdi", the craft of making dutar, performing musical art on it and the art of bakhshi in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO fully testifies to the significant role of national song and music creativity.
"As descendants of the people who made an invaluable contribution to world culture and left an indelible mark in the history of mankind, you must follow the precepts and principles of your ancestors, sing of friendship, humanism and a happy life, showing love for the national culture, song and music art and pride in them," the head of state concluded, wishing the young participants good health, long life, fulfillment of their brightest cherished desires and success in increasing the authority of the country and the glory of their native people.
