On September 4, winter wheat sowing began in the provinces of Turkmenistan. In the Akhal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary provinces of the country, farmers began an important agricultural campaign aimed at ensuring food abundance, TDH reports.
According to tradition, the elders prayed for a bountiful harvest and threw the first wheat seeds into the ground, passing the baton to machine operators. The country's farmers responsibly prepared areas for sowing, having prepared seeds of high-yielding varieties of wheat.
On the occasion of the start of wheat sowing, seminars were held in the Ak üzüm daikhan farms of Ak Bugday etrap of Ahal velayat and Batly mülkdar of Kizylarvat etrap of Balkan velayat, in the daikhan associations of Türkmenistan of Boldumsaz etrap of Dashoguz velayat, Watan of Charjev etrap of Lebap velayat, Türkmenistan of Vekilbazar etrap of Mary velayat with the participation of representatives of velayat and etrap khyakimliks, heads of daikhan associations, agronomists, machine operators, tenant farmers, and respected elders.
The issues of organized sowing campaign, use of modern agricultural methods and best practices in grain cultivation were discussed.
An exhibition of agricultural products and modern technology was also organized. Song and musical performances were held everywhere to mark the start of the sowing season.
