Four students from two universities in Turkmenistan became participants in the Academic Study of US Institutions (SUSI) program. According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, these are: Gurbangul Sapargeldieva and Chinar Garlyeva from the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan, as well as Yupar Egirjaeva and Akgozel Rasulova from the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The five-week intensive academic program for student leaders is held at American universities from June 21 to July 26. This initiative is designed to improve understanding of US culture, history and society, as well as promote the development of leadership, diplomatic skills, and respect for cultural diversity.
The curriculum included interactive activities, discussions, lectures, seminars, study tours to regions of the United States, and site visits.
Program participants mastered and acquired skills in using organizational techniques and teamwork, exchanged experiences with their American peers and jointly took part in various events. The emphasis was placed on intercultural communication, thanks to which strong friendly ties were formed between students - young leaders from the United States and around the world.
The participation of Turkmen students in the SUSI program underlines the commitment of the country’s universities to the development of global leadership and intercultural understanding among youth, the source notes.
