President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Nurlan Nogayev. This was reported in the "Vatan" news program.
As mentioned, the ambassador presented the credentials to the leader of the Turkmen state. Expressing his gratitude for taking the time to accept the diplomat, the Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokaev conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the President of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly. It was noted that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the strengthening of traditional friendly relations with independent, neutral Turkmenistan.
During the discussion on the current state and future of bilateral relations, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the ambassador noted with satisfaction that based on the common cultural and historical values of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, they are laying a solid foundation for cooperation and that these relations are currently a model of intergovernmental cooperation.
Special attention was paid to the positive nature of the cooperation between the two countries in the framework of the UN, OSCE, and CIS, as well as the CIS. In this regard, it was noted that regional mechanisms, in particular, the consultative meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the new cooperation format "Central Asia +" successfully coordinated efforts.
During the discussion of trade and economic relations, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan's interest in further development of cooperation in this field.
Pointing out the energy and transport systems as promising areas, the President of Turkmenistan and the diplomat said that the huge reserves of natural resources and geographical features of the two countries open wide opportunities for the implementation of mutually advantageous projects in these areas.
During the meeting, the importance of strengthening cultural-humanitarian relations was also emphasized.
The Kazakh ambassador expressed his happiness to the Turkmen leader for the opportunity to meet and wished him success in his work, assuring him that he will promote the further development of bilateral friendly relations and fruitful cooperation.
