What issues were discussed at the meeting between Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Kasym-Jomart Tokaev within the framework of the "ShG+" summit

On July 4, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokaev. During the meeting, broad issues of cooperation were discussed with interest. This is reported by TDH.

The meeting was held as part of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's working visit to Kazakhstan to participate in the "SCC+" summit as a guest of honor.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people and the President of Kazakhstan emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries is of a strategic nature and that the dialogue at the highest level of mutual trust ensures the continuous nature of the traditional Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation. Particular attention was paid to issues related to the development of effective cooperation, increase in the volume of trade turnover, diversification of mutual goods delivery, activation of investment activity, business relations.

Issues related to the prospects of expanding cooperation in the transport, communication and logistics sectors were also discussed. The favorable geographical location of the two countries creates favorable conditions for successful integration of efforts in this system. The construction of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway is one of the clear results of large-scale cooperation in this regard. Effective use of existing potential in this area will help to activate North-South and East-West relations and economic integration in the region and the entire Eurasian space.

The issues of strengthening humanitarian relations, including cooperation in the field of science and education, continuing the practice of organizing joint events, in particular, creative events, were given a special place in the conversation. As mentioned, the opening of the monument of Magtymguly Pyragy, the great poet and thinker of the East in Astana, was written as a bright page in the history of interstate relations. A statue of the great Kazakh folk musician and composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuli was installed in the recently opened "Magtymguly Pyragy" cultural-park complex in Ashgabat. Along with this, it is planned to install a statue of the great Kazakh poet Abay Kunanbaev in the Turkmen capital. All these are a clear sign of friendship between our peoples.

The meeting also discussed cooperation in a bilateral manner and within the framework of prestigious international organizations. In this regard, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan approaches the issues of cooperation in multilateral fields with activity and foresight.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the traditional friendly, fruitful intergovernmental relations based on the good will of the parties will be vigorously developed in the spirit of mutually advantageous cooperation for the benefit of the common welfare, and expressed their best wishes to each other and to the fraternal peoples of the two countries.

After completing the work program visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived at the International Airport named after Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana, and from there he left for Ashgabat.
