The 5th Türkiye Maritime Summit Was Held

The 5th Türkiye Maritime Summit was held on 2–3 July 2026 at the Tersane İstanbul complex in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye, under the organization of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye. The Summit served as an important international platform for discussing the development of maritime transport, port management, the logistics sector, the improvement of regional transport corridors, and current issues related to global maritime trade.
The international event brought together heads of relevant ministries and agencies from various countries, senior representatives of international organizations, including the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), as well as representatives of the maritime and logistics sectors.
The Chairman of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan also participated in the Summit. During the plenary session, he delivered a speech highlighting Turkmenistan's ongoing efforts to develop international transport and logistics cooperation, expand transit opportunities across the Caspian Sea, improve transport operations, and enhance the efficiency of regional and international transport corridors.
On the sidelines of the Summit, a bilateral meeting was held between the Chairman of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of cooperation in the fields of maritime transport and port management, strengthening transport links in the Caspian region, increasing the volume of maritime cargo transportation between the two countries, and advancing international transport corridors.
The parties noted the steady development of the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Türkiye in the field of maritime transport. They also exchanged views on further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in port management, logistics, and maritime transport, as well as continuing joint efforts in these areas.
The meeting held within the framework of the 5th Türkiye Maritime Summit will contribute to the further development of transport and logistics cooperation between the two countries, the strengthening of transport connectivity in the Caspian region, and the enhancement of the efficiency of international transport corridors.
