A New Era in Turkmenistan’s Shipbuilding: The Maiden International Voyage of "Gadamly"

A momentous event has taken place in the maritime history of Turkmenistan: the vessel "Gadamly" has successfully completed its maiden international voyage. The modern dry cargo ship, constructed by the Balkan Shipbuilding and Repair Yard at the request of the Agency of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan, arrived at the Baku International Sea Trade Port.

The "Gadamly" stands as one of the major achievements of the national shipbuilding industry during the years of Turkmenistan's independence. With a carrying capacity of 6,100 tons, this state-of-the-art dry cargo vessel is designed to transport various types of cargo, including containers. Built in compliance with international technical and safety standards, the ship is set to provide efficient service within international transport and logistics routes across the Caspian Sea.

The construction was carried out through the partnership between the Balkan Shipbuilding and Repair Yard and the South Korean company Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co. Ltd. This collaboration highlights the successful integration of international expertise and cutting-edge technologies into the country's shipbuilding sector.

The success of "Gadamly’s" first international voyage reflects the effectiveness of the state policy aimed at developing the maritime transport system, strengthening the national merchant fleet, and expanding Turkmenistan’s international transport and transit potential. Furthermore, this event serves as a clear testament to the fact that Turkmenistan’s shipbuilding industry is entering a new stage of development.

Currently, Turkmenistan is consistently strengthening its position within international transport corridors. The deployment of national vessels like "Gadamly" on international routes confirms the country's growing importance as a key transport and logistics hub in the Caspian region.
