Türkmengaz to Sign Contract With China’s CNPC

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday signed a decree at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting authorizing the state concern Türkmengaz to enter into a contract with China’s CNPC Amudarya Petroleum Company Ltd. to construct a gas processing plant with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters per year as part of the fourth phase of development of the Galkynysh field, official Turkmen media reported.

According to the decree, CNPC Amudarya Petroleum Company Ltd. will carry out the design and construction of operational wells required to ensure the specified volume of commercial gas, with full readiness for operation.

The decree was adopted to address the objectives set for the oil and gas sector and to increase natural gas production in the era of the renaissance of Turkmenistan as a powerful state.

The Cabinet meeting also considered a number of other important state issues, for which corresponding decisions were adopted.
