An Azerbaijani ferry made its first trip to Turkmenbashi after repairs.

The ferry "Barda", operated by the Merchant Fleet of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), was put back into operation after completing repairs and on its maiden voyage delivered 32 wagons and 12 trailers to the port of Turkmenbashi in Turkmenistan.

As reported by ASCO on Wednesday, repair work was carried out at the Zykh Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Yard. This included hull welding, piping, and electrical installation work, as well as the replacement of the steam boiler and watertight doors.

The mechanical and electrical components of the deck cranes, as well as the locomotive and carriage securing equipment, were adjusted. The vessel's above-water section and carriage decks were cleaned and painted in two coats. The crew's living quarters, utility areas, and sanitary areas were renovated.

The length of the vessel is 154 meters, the width is 17 meters, the maximum speed of the ferry reaches 12.5 knots, the carrying capacity is up to 5 thousand 500 tons.
