President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Sunday on a working visit to take part in an informal summit of heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Watan habarlary news program reported.
The head of state was seen off by officials at Ashgabat International Airport.
Several hours later, the presidential aircraft landed at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg, where Berdimuhamedov was met by Russian officials.
Informal CIS summits have been traditionally held in St. Petersburg since 2018. The format provides for informal talks among heads of state and government ahead of the New Year holidays.
