The National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met in Ashgabat on Thursday with John Reese, Chief Executive Officer of Nicklaus Companies. During the meeting, Berdimuhamedov noted that the company’s experience could be applied to the development of a golf club project in the Avaza tourist zone.

The project would represent another step in developing the resort as a center for recreation and sports, Berdimuhamedov said. The remarks were reported by the Watan habarlary news program.

The talks highlighted Nicklaus Companies’ strong international reputation and leading position in the design and development of golf infrastructure.

As an example of successful cooperation, the sides cited the modern golf club in Ashgabat, which meets international standards.

Reese emphasized the attention paid to sports development in Turkmenistan and confirmed the company’s readiness to continue cooperation.
