An Iranian freight train has made its first transit through Turkmenistan en route to Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
The 40-wagon train departed from the Sarakhs station in Iran carrying black metallurgy products, including sponge iron, Iran’s IRNA news agency reported Monday.
Iran, China, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan recently signed a six-party railway agreement in Istanbul, the report said.
The first Russian freight train transited Turkmenistan to Iran, delivering a large shipment of goods in November 2025.
