President of Azerbaijan Expresses Gratitude to Turkmen Colleague

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a letter to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressing appreciation for Turkmenistan’s support of Azerbaijan’s accession as a full member to the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, official Turkmen media reported Wednesday.

Aliyev said the decision reflects the friendly and brotherly nature of relations between the two countries and creates new opportunities to strengthen cooperation in political, economic, transport, energy and humanitarian areas, as well as in other fields of mutual interest.

The Azerbaijani leader said the outcomes of the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia will help unlock the potential of multilateral cooperation, bolster ties between the nations and support sustainable regional development.

Aliyev wished Berdimuhamedov good health and success and conveyed wishes of peace and prosperity to the people of Turkmenistan.

He also sent a letter of gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
