Turkmenistan Expresses Gratitude to U.S. for Backing TAPI

National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to United States President Donald Trump for his support in the implementation of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline.

On the 20th of October, during a visit to neighbouring Afghanistan, Hero Arkadag inspected the progress of construction on the Serhetabat–Herat section, known as "Arkadagyň ak ýoly", which is part of the TAPI project.

"The United States of America was among the first to support the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline project. Over the years of independence, relations between Turkmenistan and the United States of America have developed at a high level", - Hero Arkadag stated, speaking at a ceremonial meeting marking the start of construction of the next stage of the Serhetabat–Herat gas pipeline.

Hero-Arkadag noted the significant role of the Turkmen-American Business Council, through which renowned companies such as "Boeing", "Case New Holland", "John Deere", "Caterpillar", "General Electric", "Sikorsky", and "Nicklaus Design" are conducting significant work in Turkmenistan.

At the same time, the National Leader of the Turkmen People emphasised the contribution of the American company «Bownstein», which is serving as a consultant for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project and providing valuable recommendations.
