Afghan citizens will also be involved in the project, known as «Arkadagyň ak ýoly», which is part of the transnational Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline project. Once the project is fully implemented, Afghanistan will receive an average of over 1 billion dollars annually.
This was announced by the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on the 20th of October during a visit to neighbouring Afghanistan.
Hero Arkadag emphasised that the creation of new jobs for the Afghan people will have a positive impact not only on Turkmen-Afghan relations but also on the region as a whole.
"These projects share a common goal: to give a powerful impetus to the long-term development of our countries and support sustainable development in the region", - the National Leader of the Turkmen People emphasised.
