Turkmenistan President Meets with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia

The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, who arrived in the country on a working visit. The meeting reaffirmed the continued commitment of two countries to strengthening and expanding their strategic partnership.

While receiving the distinguished guest, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov returned the greetings and best wishes to the leadership of the Russian Federation, emphasizing the importance of the current visit of Deputy Prime Minister for maintaining regular intergovernmental dialogue.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister noted that Russia highly values its strategic partnership with Turkmenistan and expressed deep appreciation for the country's socioeconomic achievements and the rich history and culture of the Turkmen people. During the constructive conversation, it was noted that Turkmenistan places particular importance on expanding and strengthening interstate relations with the Russian Federation, which are successfully developing in all areas based on the principles of friendship, trust and equality.

The parties noted with satisfaction the effective development of Turkmen-Russian cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats, as evidenced by constructive interaction within the UN and the CIS. In this context, the importance of the ‘Central Asia-Russia’ partnership was emphasized.

Trade and economic ties remain a key area of interaction. The Russian Federation has been one of Turkmenistan's leading trading partners for many years.

Cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including contacts in science, education, culture and healthcare is also of great importance.

Concluding the meeting, the head of state expressed confidence that the results of the upcoming meetings will give new impetus to the advancement of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation.

The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin exchanged best wishes, confirming both countries' readiness to consistently expand their traditionally friendly interstate dialogue.
