President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held talks on Tuesday with Kuwait’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, and met with Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, during his working visit to the United States.
In his meeting with Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, the two sides highlighted the high level of bilateral cooperation and outlined prospects for further collaboration in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
Particular attention was given to the development of the energy, transport, and communications sectors, including progress on the TAPI gas pipeline project and the promotion of the East–West, North–South transport corridors.
President Berdimuhamedov invited the Crown Prince to take part in an international forum to be held on December 12 in Ashgabat, dedicated to the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.

The meeting with President Alexander Van der Bellen focused on exchanging views on key issues on the international agenda and exploring opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation.
As part of his visit to the United States, President Berdimuhamedov also held talks with King Mswati III of Eswatini.
