President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in New York on a working visit, attended the plenary meeting of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, dedicated to the organization’s 80th anniversary, the Watan Habarlary news program reported on Monday.

At John F. Kennedy International Airport, he was welcomed by Turkmenistan’s official representatives.

The high-level session was opened by Annalena Baerbock, President of the 80th UN General Assembly.

The anniversary session’s agenda includes discussions on global security and stability, the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the reform of the UN system and international financial architecture, as well as measures to counter climate change and other contemporary challenges.
