Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau on September 22 on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, with a focus on developing economic cooperation, including investment and technological areas.

During the meeting, the importance of the Turkmen-American Business Council, which brings together leading U.S. companies and promotes the expansion of business ties, was emphasized. The sides also exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues of mutual interest.

On August 20, 2025, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington.
