A total of 78 companies with Turkmen capital are currently operating successfully in Azerbaijan, across key sectors including industry, transport, construction, trade and services. The announcement was made by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Sahib Alekberov, during the TIF 2025 Investment Forum held in the Avaza National Tourism Zone, according to Trend.
According to Alekberov, mutual trade in agricultural and processed products between the two countries is showing positive momentum. However, he noted that current trade volumes remain modest, indicating the need for additional efforts to unlock the full potential of bilateral cooperation.
He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s recent decision to establish a trade mission in Uzbekistan, which will extend its activities to other Central Asian nations. This initiative, he said, opens new opportunities for regional partnerships.
The mechanism is expected to boost exports of Azerbaijani products to Turkmenistan, strengthen investment cooperation, promote direct business-to-business contacts, and the implementation of joint regional projects, the deputy minister emphasized.
From January to June 2025, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan reached $140.2 million.
