Turkmenistan Participates in Central Asia + Japan Ministerial Dialogue

A delegation from Turkmenistan took part in the second Central Asia + Japan Economic and Energy Ministerial Dialogue, held on September 16 in Tokyo under the chairmanship of Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan.

The meeting brought together heads of fuel and energy departments from Central Asian countries, both in-person and via videoconference. Participants discussed ways to expand cooperation in the energy sector, measures to achieve carbon neutrality, the adoption of new technologies, and sustainable economic development.

The sides agreed to jointly promote renewable energy projects and strengthen the regional countries’ partnership with Japan to advance shared climate goals.

Established in 2004, the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue serves as a key platform for Japan’s engagement with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
