The Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations held a side event of the Investment Forum on Monday in Ashgabat, where Turkmenistan reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships and financing strategies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), according to the UN Office in Turkmenistan.
The session brought together representatives of government agencies, UN experts, and development partners.
Participants shared key outcomes of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development and reviewed national approaches to SDG financing.
Special attention was given to successful practices from Europe and Central Asia that could be incorporated into Turkmenistan’s national strategies.
The Sustainable Development Goals comprise a set of 17 interconnected objectives adopted in 2015 by the UN General Assembly as a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.”
