Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov met with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in Doha on September 15, according to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The Emir conveyed his warm greetings and deep respect to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Sheikh Tamim expressed gratitude to the Turkmen leadership for the support extended to Qatar during challenging times.

The sides noted the high level of mutual trust and brotherly ties between the two countries, emphasizing the broad prospects for cooperation in areas such as the economy, energy, and other sectors. Special attention was given to coordination of efforts at international platforms, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Earlier the same day, Foreign Minister Meredov also met with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
