Turkmenistan, Afghanistan Look to Boost Trade Relations

Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Kabul, Hoja Ovezov, met on Thursday with Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), Sayed Mohammad Karim Hashemi, to discuss ways to enhance trade relations between the two countries.

According to the ACCI, both sides emphasized the importance of joint exhibitions as a means of promoting products from Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) is the country’s leading business association. It brings together entrepreneurs, exporters, importers, and manufacturers, representing their interests in dialogue with the government and international partners. The ACCI also facilitates trade and investment, and organizes exhibitions, business forums, and trade missions.

Turkmenistan and Afghanistan continue to strengthen their partnership in the areas of energy, trade, and transportation, advancing cross-border infrastructure projects. Key areas of cooperation include the supply of Turkmen natural gas and electricity to Afghanistan, as well as the construction of power transmission lines and railway sections.
