During a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave his blessing for the start of the grain sowing campaign across all provinces of the country on September 3.

As is tradition, the launch of this important agricultural campaign will take place with the participation of respected elders. The announcement was reported by Turkmenistan’s official media.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyev delivered a report on the results of the agro-industrial sector for the January–August period, as well as on the progress of seasonal campaigns. The overall growth rate in agriculture compared to the same period last year reached 110.4%. The Ministry of Agriculture recorded a growth rate of 102.4%, the State Committee for Water Management — 133.4%, the Türkmenpagta concern — 119.5%, and the Türkmengallaönümleri association — 103.8%. The investment implementation plan was fulfilled at 245.3%.

After hearing the report, the head of state emphasized that reforms in the agricultural sector are aimed at increasing the production of high-quality products and ensuring food abundance.

At the Cabinet meeting, the government also reviewed the results of work carried out in the country over the first eight months of this year.
