Turkmenistan, China Charity Foundations Sign Partnership Memorandum

The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship and the Soong Ching Ling Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation on Friday in Beijing. The document was signed by Oguljahan Atabaeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Turkmen foundation, and Li Bin, Chairperson of the Chinese foundation, according to the Silk Road: New Development portal.

The sides agreed to enhance cooperation in child healthcare, education, and culture, as well as to support youth exchanges aimed at strengthening friendship between the people of both countries.

Li Bin emphasized that the Soong Ching Ling Foundation places great importance on collaboration with organizations in Turkmenistan and is ready to jointly implement the agreements reached at the highest level. She noted that the foundation plans to expand cooperation in child healthcare, education, and cultural initiatives, and to invite Turkmen youth to participate in its programs promoting people-to-people ties.

Atabaeva highlighted that the mission of the Chinese foundation aligns closely with that of the Turkmen side and expressed readiness to deepen the partnership.

During the visit, the Turkmen delegation toured the Soong Ching Ling Youth Science, Technology and Cultural Exchange Center and became acquainted with the activities of various children's creative groups.

On August 25, Atabaeva met with Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng to discuss cooperation prospects within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. Special attention was given to the development of joint projects in child healthcare, education, and volunteerism.
